The Environmental Information Regulations allow people to request environmental information from public authorities and those bodies carrying out a public function. Birmingham Airport, which is partly owned by seven District Councils in the West Midlands, is among the public bodies to which the Regulations apply. For the same reason the Freedom of Information Act 2000 also applies to the Airport

The latest Regulations, the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (SI 2004/3393), came into force on  the 1st January 2005 - the same date that the Freedom of Information Act 2000 came fully into force. For more information see the leaflet published Information Commissioner's Office.

In line with the spirit and requirements of the 2004 Regulations 2004, the Airport resolved to make environmental information gathered after 1 January 2005 more widely available to organisations and individuals. To this end it drew up a Code of Practice which can be seen on the Airport's website. On the same page there is also a link to the Airport's latest quarterly Environmental Report

From the Airport's website you can also access its annual Environmental Reports for 2000/01 and subsequent years.
